We are seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to oversee all aspects of transportation and logistics operations for our company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the chemical and gas industry, with expertise in warehousing 3PL, LTL, international export/import shipping, fleet management, TMS (Transportation Management Systems), and logistics management. This role will office out of the plant in Rhome, Texas (15 min outside of Fort Worth) and will have hybrid flexibilty 2 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies to optimize efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure timely delivery of products.

  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), freight forwarders, carriers, and other transportation partners.

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including LTL (Less Than Truckload) and FTL (Full Truckload) shipments.

  • Oversee international shipping and customs clearance processes for export and import shipments.

  • Implement and manage a Transportation Management System (TMS) to streamline transportation operations and track shipments in real time .

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and international shipping regulations.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, operations, and customer service, to ensure alignment and meet customer requirements.

  • Manage transportation-related budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics to monitor and optimize transportation costs and service levels.

  • Lead and develop a team of transportation and logistics professionals, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.

    Qualifications

  • Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in transportation and logistics management, preferably in the chemical and gas industry.

  • Strong knowledge of transportation modes and regulations, including warehousing 3PL, LTL, international shipping, and customs clearance.

  • Experience implementing and managing Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
