We are seeking a Production Operator: Consolidation who is responsible for assisting the production manager and team lead with overall production requirements for incoming and outgoing refrigerants as part of the Refri-Claim Program. Primary job duties will be to segregate cylinders and consolidate cylinders into bulk tanks or half-tons and move empty cylinders to the refurbishing department as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists the production manager with the maintenance of pumps, cylinders, hoses, relief valves, cylinder valves, and bulk tanks

  • Ability to handle high-pressure and liquid cylinders

  • Inspect cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required

  • Prepares cylinders and ISO tanks for filling: Attaches to manifold, evacuates cylinders to eliminate all possible contaminants

  • Fills cylinders by pressure and weight, per regulations and standards

  • Analyzes products for purity and correct mixtures

  • Conducts a variety of Safety checks per procedures, such as odor tests, checking caps and valves

  • Accurately labels cylinders

  • Completes quality control sheets as required

  • Understands hazards of various gases; sizes and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks

  • Complies with all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases

  • Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment

  • Maintain neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Assists the production manager or production technician with tracking incoming and outgoing production inventory

  • Participate in a Health and Safety culture to ensure a safe practicing environment

  • Other duties as assigned

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications

  • Essential

    • High School diploma or GED is required

    • Able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, sit, squat, and stand for long periods of time

    • Previous experience working in manufacturing, and gas environment is required; HVAC experience is preferred.

    • Able to clearly communicate, read and write.

    • Must be able to type and manage basic computer skills and data entry

    • Ability to follow job instructions and be aware of his job responsibilities

    • Ability to meet his KPIs and willingness to work overtime.
