Eaton Corporation Sr NPI Quality Engineer in Reynosa, Mexico

Eaton’s IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Sr NPI Quality Engineer.

What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The NPI Quality Engineer is a plant resource responsible, from a quality perspective, of ensuring a flawless execution of new product launches, changes to existing product lines or any other assigned projects. The quality engineer will follow and support the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) efforts working together with the Plant Project Manager and the cross functional team; the quality Engineer is the lead in ensuring product and process meet all customer requirements through the implementation and documentation (Core Tools) of those controls. This role is also key on managing customer satisfaction through the different communication channels including web portals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. Analyze new assembly processes or approaches and identify potential failure modes and solutions (process controls) working together with the NPI Manufacturing Engineer

B. Actively participates in the development of “Manufacturing System Design” deliverables such as VSM, 3P, PFD, PFMEA, Standardized Work, LMF, among others.

C. Leads the development of quality related documents such as Control Plan for new and assigned existing assembly processes.

D. Leads the development of PPAPs; submit it to the customers and follow up until approval is granted

E. Creation, implementation, and control of correcting actions, internally and from customer complains

F. Leads de development of MSA and Capability studies where applicable for existing and new processes

G. Responsible of define and implement SPC controls where applicable or required

H. Subject Matter Expert in CORE TOOLS, APQP, SPC, Sig-Sigma and Process Controls.

I. Assists with the implementation of quality systems (ISO 9001:2015, IATF:16949)

J. Participates on internal quality audits (IATF:16949 and EQMS Policies)

K. Participates on continuous Improvement and Error Proof projects (Green Belt Projects)

L. Actively participates on APQP and PROLaunch meetings and events to meet required deliverables on time

M. Develop, implement, and performs Layered Process Audit (LPA).

N. Participates on MRB meeting to provide disposition for material into the quarantine area.

O. Reviews Warranty claims into the Quality Customers Portals (OEM); ensures an effective communication with customers and pursues customer satisfaction

P. Quality Engineer has the authority to stop shipment and production if quality of the product is in doubt

Q. Participates in Quality Gemba Walks

Qualifications:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

• 3 - 5 years of experience in areas of similar areas.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanics, or industrial engineering.

• Knowledge of Quality standards (ISO 9001:2015, IATF:16949:2016, ISO14001).

• Management of measurement tools.

• Fluent in English/Spanish (conversational & written).
