The Senior Merchandise Planner for Bath & Body Works is responsible for the planning/forecasting of Omni Channel shop and category financials. Generates and analyzes data, and revises the financial plans in support of the business strategies, focusing on Semi Annual Sale. Reports to Manager, Director or AVP of Merchandise Planning. Manages Merchandise Planners or Associate Planners.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and communicate financial sales and inventory strategies & interpretation for stores and web channels, Semi-Annual Sale architecture, pricing and promotions, margin targets, exit strategies, timing, planning calendar

  • Highlight the business opportunities and risks associated with the current financial sales and inventory position and actual performance of the business

  • Present business trends and inventory forecast to management in weekly business review, monthly MIM (Monthly Inventory Management) and other meetings as needed

  • Develop pre season sales and inventory financials, partnering with category planning and inventory teams

  • Present pre season sales and inventory financials to key leaders in the business to align on company direction

  • Review and provide hindsights for cross-functional team

  • Provide the leadership and the vital formal and informal training, including one-on-one development, needed to support a team that contributes consistent financial growth to the business

  • Actively pursue growth and development opportunities, continually finding ways to improve

  • Communicate openly and directly; accept responsibility and champion ideas despite challenges

  • Champion change, taking chances as needed and demonstrating flexibility

  • Encourage innovation, creativity and risk-taking through influence in teams

  • Cultivate the ability to work effectively under stressful and changing circumstances

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years retail planning or relevant business experience

  • Demonstrated track record of being an effective partner and great teammate across multiple departments

  • Organized with strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide deliverables in a timely manner

  • Expert technical skill proficiency using Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Expert technical skill proficiency using Arthur and/or MSI tools preferred; other retail planning systems experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, operations, economics, business, or a relevant field. Statistics is a plus.
