The Assistant Digital Merchant Role at Bath & Body Works supports the execution of category and site strategies to grow their businesses on a consistent, profitable basis for Bath&BodyWorks.com. The Assistant Digital Merchant aids in the creation of these strategies and tactics by developing a deep understanding of the Direct business, Stores business, target customers and the competition.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Manager to develop clear strategies and tactics to drive volume, customer engagement and profit for respective categories on BBW.com.

  • Actively analyze the business to provide significant insights into performance – assessing category, customer, and shopping behavior through the digital channel.

  • Works together with Manager to develop seasonal plans that apply historical performance and current business data

  • Supports seasonal digital floor-sets delivering upon brand, category, and customer priorities all while providing a streamlined shopping experience

  • Partner with Digital Commerce Operations to provide inputs for site builds and demonstrate new toolsets to drive category results.

  • Responsible for the execution of launch plans and set-up for product category including, but not limited line list management, digital creative requests, pricing files

  • Partner with Digital Marketing to provide category inputs to external marketing campaign strategies

  • Leads the approval of product launches on site validating all customer facing content (name, description, retail, imagery)

  • Curiosity to move processes and workflows forward – drive efficiencies and speed to eliminate duplications and enhance agility

  • Understand the competition by conducting patterning activities to find opportunities and challenges for in-season business and future directions

  • Visits stores regularly to proactively solicit feedback from customers and sales associates

  • Seen as the category guide and “go to” person by their cross-functional partners

  • Flexible to work during off-business hours to support BBW.com

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • 1+ years of merchandising experience; ecommerce and/or buying experience preferred

  • Understanding of vertically integrated retail, discernment, and retail math skills

  • Proficient business insight in digital metrics

  • Systems savvy (Adobe Analytics and Salesforce preferred); ecommerce content management systems

  • Strong communication and presentation skills (written & verbal)

  • Balance of creativity and conceptual thinking with analytical and project management skills

  • Flexibility and agility in leading sophisticated projects

  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners

  • Detailed execution and anticipation of challenges, problem solving and follow through

  • Systems and computer proficiency (MS Office-Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
