Trade Winds Farm (TAC), LLC (Rexford, NY) seeks Assistant Trainer to work with in the management of the daily care of horse and preparation of horses for training, including feeding/watering horses, putting, and monitoring horses in mechanical horse walker, preparing horses to be ridden on the training track, bathing, brushing, and clipping of horses. Train new horse grooms. Develop and enforce dietary and conditioning programs for horses. Order supplies and feed. Maintain equipment, supply, and feed inventory. Dispense and apply prescribed medications and treatments. Develop and enforce exercise routines and schedules tailored to individual animals. Administer medications and assist veterinarian while performing physical examinations, by keeping the horse calm and under control. Daily upkeep of barns and stalls. Manage stable attendants and staff in general cleaning of barns and care of horses. Prepare horses for shipping. Manage the logistics of horses and staff traveling to different events, transport of horses, equipment, staff, accommodations, entries, preparation of horses. Organize and manage health documents for horses. Travel to local horse shows in Saratoga, Onondaga, Ulster, Essex, and Suffolk Counties of New York. Req. 2 years’ experience as Horse Groom.
