Job Title: Vice President, Accounting Operations

Location: Reston, VA

About This Role:

Responsible for accurately recording financial transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ensures financial commitments and contractual obligations are recorded and paid in a timely and efficient manner. Oversees international accounting operations and directs completion of local statutory reporting and audits. Provides monthly internal management reporting, maintains financial transactions by departmental designations to support the budget reporting process, provides support to the SEC reporting process and provides detailed schedules in support of the Internal and External Audit process.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for the maintenance of general ledgers

  • Preparation of financial statements

  • Performing and/or supervising account analyses and reconciliations

  • Devising internal reports useful to the accounting department and other departments

  • Maintaining SOX compliance

  • Issuing internal statements and reports on a timely basis

  • Meeting all external reporting requirements and deadlines

  • Supervision of staff involved in payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets, general accounting, and international accounting

  • Direct the completion of statutory reporting and audits

  • Directs the work of Accounting teams; sets project deadlines, delegates responsibilities; allocates resources and monitors progress toward successful completion

  • Ensures that effective SOX controls are in place and are followed

  • Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies that meet audit standards and improve efficiency of the accounting function

  • Manages auditing process and relationship with external auditors

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function; attracts, engages, grows and retains key talent; builds capability in others by training, mentoring, coaching, and creating opportunities for growth and learning; develops growth and succession plans

What You'll Need:

  • B.A./B.S. in Accounting

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, CPA strongly preferred

  • Experience with international accounting operations

  • detail-oriented

  • excellent communication, interpersonal, and oral/written presentation skills

  • ability to manage staff and lead projects/teams independently

  • Compensation: $200,000 - $210,000 baseplus incentives, commensurate with experience.
