Red Gate Group is seeking a skilled Site Reliability Administrator to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Reston, VA. In this vital role, you will ensure mission-critical back-end infrastructure remains operational, secure, and compliant. You will help maintain and scale clustered environments, drive innovation, and lead efforts in automation. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while enhancing your skills in Red Hat Linux automation and site reliability engineering.

As a Site Reliability Administrator, you will balance operations and maintenance, security compliance, and technological innovation. You will serve as a technical mentor and innovation leader within the team, contributing to the development of cutting-edge solutions for a high-profile client mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and secure Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in a multi-tenant enterprise environment.

  • Automate operational tasks using tools like Ansible and Red Hat Satellite to ensure compliance and efficiency.

  • Ensure system stability by supporting weekly maintenance and addressing outages in accordance with SLAs.

  • Lead team efforts in scaling and maintaining clustered environments.

  • Collaborate across teams and workstreams to foster innovation and share technical knowledge.

  • Active TS/SCI 

  • 3-5+ years of experience with management, security, and automation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in a multi-tenant enterprise network environment

  • Experience with security and compliance frameworks (i.e., DoD STIGs, NIST 800-53) and remediation strategies in RHEL environments

  • Proficient with automation tools like Ansible and Red Hat Satellite for the streamlining of operational tasks and maintaining compliance of systems

  • Ability to support weekly maintenance and respond to outages on a rotational basis, ensuring minimal disruption in multi-tenant operations in accordance with Operations SLAs

  • DoD 8570/8140 for IAT2 Level Certification, including but not limited to Security + CE, Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), and Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Kubernetes orchestrations, scaling, and troubleshooting in multi-tenant environments

  • Experience building, maintaining, and securing CI/CD pipelines using DevSecOps principles in Kubernetes environment

  • Familiarity with managing and configuring Kubernetes environments, including tools like Rancher, Helm, and Harbor

  • Knowledge of container networking and security best practices within Kubernetes

  • Kubernetes certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator - CKA or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer - CKAD)

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and working on Agile teams using collaboration tools, including Jira, Confluence, or Discourse

  • Experience managing and deploying applications in an air-gapped environment

  • Experience working with CM tools, including Gitlab, Git-centric, and CI/CD workflows
