As we build to be the leading and most capable cloud platform in the world, Mission Engineering’s Sensitive Mission Platform Team is hiring a proven Senior (Sr.) Technical Product Manager (PM) and engineering leader to contribute to our mission requirements team and to build and lead the associated testing, validation, and quality engineering processes. These processes are essential to maintaining quality standards, validating mission needs are met by our Air Gapped Cloud products, and also key to identifying future feature and product development requirements in next horizon releases. The PM will be a key player in advancing Azure Government’s mission platform integration, engineering planning and development processes to meet the most challenging mission set in the National Security vertical. The PM will work alongside other product managers, program managers, engineers and architects that are building the Mission Infrastructure Products ecosystem, building and delivering some of the most advanced cloud capabilities within Defense & Intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a virtual team of Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, software, hardware, and test engineers in executing test plans, testing and validation processes, and product requirement refinement.

  • As an individual contributor, be the champion and lead for development and execution of mission application and mission product testing and validation processes supporting Mission Infrastructure Products.

  • Contribute to engineering activities to include requirements and resource planning, engineering and development reviews, and program execution for mission pathfinder projects.

  • Coordinate cross-organization engineering and development teams in exercising testing and validation workstreams into a coherent and disciplined manner.

  • Apply best engineering practices to assess testing and validation results and articulate required engineering activities to further advance product features, product quality, product security, and address any identified mission capability gaps.

  • Plan and execute both testing and validation events, retrospectives, and quality compliance reviews.

  • Engage with colleagues across a large, diverse, and distributed organization to drive decisive action that delivers results.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 4+ years' experience with developing integration testing, feature testing, and validation plans that supported Defense & Intelligence customer programs and capabilities to include mission and real-time processing scenarios.

  • 4+ years' experience with Defense & Intelligence systems requirements, architectures, and capability delivery.

  • Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with a polygraph . Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.

  • Clearance Verification : This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customer and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in product, project, or program management with large scale services, mission applications, mission platforms, or distributed systems.

  • Proven experience in developing and executing testing and integration programs that included software and hardware functionality.

  • Have superior interpersonal skills, and be an extremely accomplished communicator, both written and oral.

  • Ability to manage complex, large scale engineering projects.

  • Familiarity with metrics driven processes to drive system development and capability and assure customer requirements are accepted and satisfied.

  • Experience with cloud capabilities, architecture, and technology.

  • 5+ years of industry or government experience working in the Government market sector serving Local, State, and/or Federal Government agencies. Department of Defense or Intelligence Community experience is beneficial to this role.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
