Requisition Summary

The Service Diagnostics Technician/Engineer provides the PACCAR Dealer Network and PACCAR organization with the most effective and efficient chassis-specific methods for the repair and maintenance of all products developed by Kenworth.

This person will work with a team responsible for developing and maintaining standard repair times (SRT) to support new product implementations and reduce PACCAR’s long term warranty repair costs. The Technician/Engineer will manage multiple work requests while balancing competing priorities to complete assigned tasks. Additionally, they will identify opportunities for continuous improvements in day-to-day activities.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Performs all work meeting safety guidelines and procedures.

  • Creates and maintains Standard Repair Times required to support new project implementations and reduce long term warranty repair costs.

  • Conduct time studies on PACCAR products including MX engine, aftertreatment systems and new product launches.

  • Evaluate and support new vehicle and engine tooling development.

  • Create and maintain service/repair process instructions in a web interface database.

  • Assist Dealer Training, Field Service and Engineering with developing optimized repair solutions.

  • Communicate with PACCAR stakeholders to ensure repair times and procedures align with product requirements.

  • Complete other assignments as requested by management.

    Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma /GED.

  • Diesel/Automotive Vocational/Technical school certification or BA/BS preferred.

  • Experience with electrical trouble shooting and on-board diagnostic systems preferred.

  • Solid mechanical aptitude

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • High level of initiative and demonstrated problem solving.

  • Automotive/Class 8 truck dealership experience and/or manufacturing experience/product knowledge preferred.

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience/working knowledge of HTML, XML publishing preferred.

  • Technical writing experience preferred.

    Additional Job Board Information

    At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for the Service Diagnostic Technician/Engineer is $75,100 - $112,300 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
