PACCAR Inc. Distribution Center Manager - Renton in Renton, Washington

Requisition Summary Under the general supervision of the PACCAR Parts Senior Director of Operations, leads all Distribution Center activities. This position is located in Renton, WA. Job Functions / Responsibilities Direct operations assuring the expedient flow of product in/out of the PDC. Manage to world-class cost, productivity, quality, inventory control, customer service, human resource, and safety metrics. Lead by example with highest degree of integrity, promote teamwork, and effectively communicate at all levels within the organization. Recruit, train, and develop all levels of staffing. Foster a climate of continuous improvement and drive change throughout the PDC network. Desire and understanding to use data and statistical tools to drive operational improvements; strong focus on metrics and culture of accountability. Develop and perform within approved Operating and Capital budgets. Work with Capital Budget Manager to create facility improvement projects and Champion or lead the implementation phases. Develop a positive relationship with the customer base; maintain market knowledge of PDC region dealers, supply base, and competitors. Develop a positive relationship with current/new freight carriers that drives lead time reductions and improved service to dealers and customers. Engage regularly with members of the Executive Management Team. Work with Assistant Director of Logistics manage outbound freight logistics and ensure the highest quality at lowest possible cost. Prepare, direct, and coordinate reports and information Participate in special assignments/projects; available for travel and/or relocation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a business, logistics, or engineering field required, master's degree preferred. 7+ Years of leadership and supervision experiencewithin PACCAR or similar business environment. Proven record of accomplishment in developing future leaders required. Highly self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment with little to no supervision. Ability to influence others through clear communication of expectations. Ability to present and communicate to all levels of management. Ability to manage technical projects, such as radio frequency and voice picking, within the distribution environment Experience with PACCAR Production System (PPS) or TPS methodology a plus. Experience with Total Quality Management System (TQM) a plus. Distribution, logistics, manufacturing, quality, or inventory control experience. Multi-lingual skills highly desirable.
