Providence St. Joseph Health Director - Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Renton, Washington

Description Overview The Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will partner with the system Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) in the planning and direction of administrative, financial, and day-to-day operational activities of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The Director will advance Providence's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategy by managing the Caregiver Resource Group (CRG) Program. The Director will be responsible for directing CRG leadership, advising CRG executive sponsors, and ensuring that all CRGs function at a high capacity. The successful candidate will have responsibility to take the CRG program and Diversity Councils to the next level by serving as a strategic thought partner and advisor. This role will be remote, but preferably within the Providence footprint (OR, WA, CA, MT, TX, NM, AK). Key Responsibilities DEI Operations: Serve as a trusted advisor to the system CDO with responsibility for day-to-day operations of the DEI department. Serve as liaison and interface with DEI team, executives, core leaders, and caregivers regarding the status of DEI strategic initiatives. Attend meetings on behalf of the system CDO to extend reach across the Providence family of organizations. Assist with the development and management of the department budget. Develop processes to support effective and efficient operations of the department. Partner with the DEI leadership team to ensure that strategic initiatives stay on track and are fully implemented. Develop and monitor DEI metrics and dashboards. Handle inquiries and assists with the preparation and dissemination of appropriate responses. Proactively identify potential risks that jeopardize the successful implementation of DEI initiatives and partner with the DEI team to develop mitigation plans. Work with DEI team and other stakeholders to gather critical information for executive leadership, board, and other highly visible presentations. Stay up to date on DEI and healthcare industry trends. CRG Program: Develop and implement CRG Program governance and infrastructure to support daily operations and effectiveness of CRGs. Provide strategic guidance and oversight of CRG program operations. Build relationships with CRG executive sponsors, Division Chief Diversity Officers, Talent Management, and other stakeholders to ensure CRG programming aligns with the DEI strategy. Assist CRGs in development and implementation of annual strategic plans and budgets. Identify CRG-related professional and leadership development opportunities CRG leaders, members, and executive sponsors. Develop CRG metrics and scorecard to track performance and impact of CRGs. Review and approve all CRG communications, programming, and budgets. professional experience/qualifications Professional Experience and Qualifications Ten years of related diversity and inclusion leadership with demonstrated track record of progressive leadership. Experience in organizing and directing multiple teams. Business management experience with strong strategy and operational background. Experience in data analysis and budget management. Consulting experience, with a focus on operations and change management. Proven success in a project coordination role. Strong project-reporting skills, with focus on interdepartmental communications. Experience working in a large, complex, matrixed organization. Ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
