Generac Clean Energy is dedicated to delivering revolutionary Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for our residential customers to improve energy reliability and grid independence. Our software and firmware teams enable these systems to provide a seamless battery backup system for our customers.

Our software stack is built on top of React Native, Typescript, MQTT, and other related technologies, with a sophisticated and fault-tolerant architecture that collects real-time data from devices and enables remote configuration and control of the battery systems.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Installer Mobile Application team. This project aims to provide our installers with an industry-leading install and commissioning experience. This individual will be responsible for development of the core application, designing new features, and owning their implementation. They will also need to work across other software teams, including firmware, to collect requirements and interfaces to ensure a seamless in-app user experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop mobile apps using React Native and Typescript.

  • Create backend cloud applications with Typescript and Node.js.

  • Participate in all phases of software development, from design to deployment.

  • Utilize modern tools for continuous development and frequent releases.

  • Engage in data-driven processes for quality product development.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for innovative system design and implementation.

  • Travel to different facilities worldwide, collaborating with teams and deploying our solutions.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in full-stack JavaScript development.

  • Proficiency in Typescript, React Native and Node.js.

  • Understanding of REST API design and system architecture.

  • Experience interacting with real-world equipment is a plus.

  • Experience with MQTT is a plus.
