ABM Industries Oversize Baggage Attendant in Reno, Nevada

Overview

The Oversize Baggage Attendant provides support to the Baggage Service Office at Reno-Tahoe Intl Airport, assisting the airline ticket counter staff with the loading of passenger luggage onto the conveyer belt and spacing out luggage to prevent luggage jams on the conveyor belt and assisting Customers with delayed, damaged or pilfered baggage.

Hourly pay: $12.00, Bi-weekly Pay

Schedule: Thursday-Monday but is subject to change, must be flexible.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required

• No experience required and on the job training provided

Preferred Qualifications:

• One (1) year of customer service or similar work experience preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read IATA tickets to determine flight departure times and connecting carriers

  • Screens all interline passengers prior to placing bags on the interline return belts

  • Ensures baggage tagging is correct

  • Handles oversized bags

  • Direct and assist passengers with mischecked or short-checked bags

  • Handles misplaced/lost baggage claims and provides reports to Carriers

  • Evaluates customer’s need concerning airline locations

  • Is able to meet the Station’s attendance standards

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Follow safety precautions at all times

A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
