Reno Orthopedic Center MRI Technologist - Per Diem in Reno, Nevada

Do you have a MRI Technologist certification? Love the hustle and bustle of a busy clinic? Join ROC as a MRI Technologist! This position will remain posted until filled.

You would take MRI images as requested by the provider to help with the patient's diagnosis and treatment. Without the image, the provider may not have enough information to proceed, so your role is literally make or break! At ROC, we know who we and what we stand for; we do our jobs efficiently and effectively. Imaging excellence is top of the list of our priorities, shown in our state of the art equipment and technology. Develop strong relationships with fellow healthcare professionals and providers.

What would you do as a MRI Technologist?

The MRI Technologist is responsible for obtaining high quality images as requested from medical professionals for use in the development of patient treatment plans. You can expect to regularly:

  • Operate high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce radiographic images of patients’ specific body parts;

  • Operate a Magnetic Resonance (MR) scanner to obtain images used by physicians, determine appropriate imaging techniques, and operate console and peripheral hardware;

  • Screen patients for MR safety, explain the MRI process and address patient concerns prior to performing scanning;

  • Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and ensure patient and staff safety;

  • Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately;

  • Document imaging performed, appropriate charges and other necessary information in patients’ electronic medical records and Patient Archive Communication System (PACS);

  • Maintain quality control measures in accordance with American College of Radiology guidelines;

  • Follow quality assurance guidelines including positioning, markers, demographics, and coning to ensure optimal images before releasing image to physician;

  • Prepare radiology department daily including cleaning, stocking, and sanitizing work areas and equipment.

Requirements

  • Certifications/Education

  • MRI Technologist Certification through American Registry of Radiological Technologists;

  • Knowledge of

  • MRI and radiology safety procedures and protocols;

  • HIPAA and OSHA regulations/procedures;

  • Experience

  • Using computer systems and applications, including radiology software;

  • Communicating effectively with patients, physicians, and other medical staff.

Schedule: May include nights and weekends (Saturday). Schedule is based on manager discretion.

Travel: This position may require travel to other clinic locations based on business need.
