Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Controller role with the wholly owned subsidiary of a large, foreign public company here in Reno. This role is working in a corporate infrastructure, but in a small office - and running QuickBooks. Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our client's team. The Controller will be responsible for managing All Corporate – Ecommerce – Creative & Branch Office Financials while ensuring accurate financial reporting for the company. This is a Corporate environment with both Internal Auditors and External Auditors with Audited Financial Statements yearly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting

  • Manage the eCommerce P& Ls and Retail P& Ls, analyzing sales and margins.

  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes, including the preparation of financial statements which are due to foreign parent by the 6th of the following month.

  • Work closely with the CFO to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models

  • Develop and maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial stakeholders

  • Manage the company's cash flow and ensure compliance with banking covenants

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy of inventory management, cost of goods sold, and other financial data

  • Provide support for ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required, CPA or MBA preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in financial management/Controller experience

  • Experience with QuickBooks, Shopify, PR and Inventory Management systems a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • The position requires this individual to complete their task no matter how long it takes to complete on a daily basis. Quarterly travel to New York, 3-4 days is required.

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller

  • Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Demonstrated knowledge of journal entries

  • Financial statement preparation experience

  • Inventory analysis experience highly desired

  • Practical knowledge of Quickbooks Online

  • Strong familiarity with Cash Flow Reports

  • Adeptness in financial reporting

  • Foundational knowledge in general ledger

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field required
