General Summary and Responsibilities:

Responsible for purchasing goods and services while ensuring timely, cost-effective product delivery. Collaborate with different departments within manufacturing/operations and manage vendor relationships for optimal supply chain efficiency.

Essential Functions:

  • Procure goods and services necessary for company operations via Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products including expedite, deferral, and cancelation negotiations with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with various departments (manufacturing, quality, engineering, etc.) to understand and address procurement needs.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to communicate forecasted demand, monitor inventory levels, and contribute to strategic planning.

Other Duties:

  • Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and changes in supply chain dynamics.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement strategies to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve procurement processes.

Job Specifications:

Education / Certifications:

  • BA/BS in a relevant field such as business, supply chain management, logistics, or other related discipline.

Experience:

  • Manufacturing experience in supply chain is preferred.

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of supply chain/procurement and quality control principles.
  • Strong attention to detail, including organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in written form, including ability to lead cross-functional discussions.
  • Ability to multitask and operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Contact with Others:

  • Works closely with all department staff including operations, planning, quality, logistics, product development, and others.

Supervision Received:

  • Reports to the Materials Manager but must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other departments.

Pressure of Work:

  • Must be able to handle changing priorities and occasional heavy workload.

Scope and Impact:

  • Performing duties to a high level is required to maintain customer on-time delivery, product quality, and brand equity.

Working Conditions:

  • Casual office atmosphere.
