Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Reno, Nevada

Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill an Accounts Payable Specialist position in Reno. This job requires 5 days a week in office. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for invoice coding, payment processing and communicating with vendors effectively. The candidates’ main responsibilities will include timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices related to development, property management and construction. This position interacts with various internal and external customers related to vendor invoicing and accounts payable. Thus, attention to detail, along with excellent oral and written communication skills are critical to the success of individuals in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor payments

• Setup new vendors including requesting W-9's

• Correspond with vendors regarding payment status and other finance related inquiries

• Analyze processes and suggest improvements for efficiency

• Proactively identify problems and take actions to resolve

• Assist with annual 1099 reporting

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 2+ years of accounts payable invoice processing experience

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• High level of attention to detail

• Strong organization skills

• Experience with prioritizing workload to adapt to changing business needs

• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook and Word

• Associates degree is preferred but not required

• Property Management / Construction experience is a plus

• Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk role or similar position

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Accounts Payable (AP)

• Demonstrated experience with Check Runs and Coding Invoices

• Experience in Invoice Processing is necessary

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Must have the ability to manage Payable Invoices efficiently

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be organized and able to multitask effectively

• Knowledge of accounting principles and best practices is essential.
