SAIC Master Java Developer in REMOTE WORK, Virginia
Description
SAIC is looking for Java Developer - Master to work remotely on strategic projects supporting the United States Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency. You will work within the Price Support team to create new user information solutions by designing, implementing and maintaining Java-based Web components and interfaces within a Scrum team. You will contribute to the entire System Development Lifecycle (SDLC), by assessing functional and technical requirements, performing high-level and detailed design activities, writing testable and efficient code in support of those designs and testing completed implementations for functional and technical compliance prior to deployment. You will update, maintain and add functionality to preexisting Java-based information solutions.
Primary Job Duties
Serve as the technical lead on a Scrum team consisting of developers and testers
Decompose user specifications and technical designs provided by application architects to assign and monitor coding tasks within a Scrum team.
Lead, and document the results of, peer code reviews.
Create SDLC-mandated project and product documentation.
Debug and resolve application and data issues.
Reports to a project manager, with additional oversight provided by application architects.
Mentor, coach and develop Scrum team members.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree
9+ years of software development experience utilizing Java or a Master’s degree and 7+ years of software development experience utilizing Java
Clearance:
- Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust clearance
Skills:
Must be an excellent team player in a diverse culture
Must display the ability to work under pressure
Must display the desire and ability to act as a mentor/coach/teacher
Must possess expertise with a version-control system such as Bitbucket
Must possess expertise with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Eclipse
Must possess expertise with a configuration/build tool such as Maven
Must possess expertise with a continuous-integration server such as Jenkins
Must possess expertise with a unit-testing framework such as JUnit
Must possess expertise with third-party APIs and frameworks such as Spring
Must possess experience working in a Scrum environment
Experience with Section 508 accessibility standards is preferred
Experience with remediating OWASP Top 10 Security Risks is preferred
Experience with Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) and web service paradigms and protocols such as SOAP and REST is preferred.
Experience with Single-Page Applications (SPA) is desirable.
Experience supporting the Farm Programs mission area at USDA Farm Service Agency is preferred.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
