SAIC Software Developer in REMOTE WORK, Maryland

Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced Software Developer to work on development of the NAVAIR Airworthiness electronic Flight Clearance and associated mobile applications.

This position is contingent upon award news this Spring/Summer 2024.

This role has the option of being remote. A minimum of a Secret clearance is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and/or fix bugs in a web application suited to stakeholders wants

  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of application

  • Implement long term solutions and building blocks within the agile framework for improved reusability

  • Interface with the stakeholders for project requirements

  • Collaborate, coordinate with colleagues on various solutions and problems

  • Design and build applications for the iOS/Android platforms

  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications

  • Interface with the government customer with respect to project requirements

  • Leverage JIRA to create product backlogs, track sprints and user stories, and monitor team efficiency.

  • Analyze and redesign processes to minimize inefficiencies.

  • Manage client expectations in daily interactions and sprint planning and review.

  • Plan and execute sprint planning and review sessions.

  • Establish a structure that increases efficiency and promotes proactive modifications.

  • Implement long term solutions and building blocks within the agile framework for improved reusability.

  • Coordinate with other projects to execute over all vision of the program.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent or ability to obtain one of the following certifications NLT 60 days after performance start: ITIL 4 Foundation Level, CSSLP, CGRC, CompTia Sec+ 3 or more years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to manage multiple work streams at one time.

  • Work within Android and iOS systems

  • Proficient with Objective-C or Swift

  • Ability to problem solve and identify and resolve software issues/bugs

  • Ability to provide peer code review

  • Experience with the following:

  • Front End Web Framework (For example -Vue, React, Angular)

  • Back End Web Framework (For example - Spring, Express.js, Django)

  • Code Repositories (For example - GitLab)

  • JavaScript,

  • HTML

  • CSS

  • Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, etc.

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services

  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT

  • Apply forward thinking to suggest improvements to the processes, applications, and resulting products created by the project.

  • Ability to think outside the box and generate solutions.

Desired experience with the following:

  • SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB) Databases

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

  • Experience with Kubernetes or Openshift

  • Experience with Docker

  • Experience with software package managers (npm, maven, etc.)

  • Experience with ES6+ JavaScript/typescript

  • Experience with functional programming concepts

  • Experience with Linux operating systems

  • Experience with using virtual machines for development

  • Experience with REST APIs

  • Experience with issue tracking software (Jira, gitlab, etc.)

  • Experience with Rust

  • Experience with XML/XSLT

Required Clearance:

  • This position REQUIRES U.S. citizenship and, at minimum, an ACTIVE DoD Secret-level clearance

Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
