SAIC Database Developer in REMOTE WORK, District Of Columbia

Description

SAIC is seeking a qualified Database Engineer for a fully remote position supporting a new US Coast Guard program, AFMS (Air Force Modeling & Simulation).

AFMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations.

SAIC is seeking experience Database Developers to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFMS) program. In this role you will establish database management systems, standards, requirements, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design and architecture, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy.

Specific responsibilities of the Database Engineer include:

  • Work with clients to translate business requirements into a logical model that will accurately support and represent the clients entity relationship and flow of data.

  • Develop the appropriate database framework to convert the logical model into a physical model including the creation and maintenance of schemas containing windows, screens, tables and columns and reports that support the model.

  • Make recommendations to maximize operating efficiency, support storage requirements and vendor software updates, enforce data governance, ensure recovery is maintained.

  • Participate in quality assurance and develops test application code in client server environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience; or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree

  • DoD 8570 certification in IAT Level II certification or above (Security+ CE, CASP+ CE, CISSP, etc.) or ability to get within 90 days.

  • Must be US Citizen and actively possess an Secret clearance.

  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases: MongoDB, MSSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL.

  • Experience working in a cloud based environment.

  • Experience with AWS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Database Specialty certification.

  • Experience working on a team with Agile methodologies.

Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
