Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Senior Architect for Data Integration / Interoperability under the Ascension Data Delivery & Governance (ADDG) organization within Ascension Technologies, will be responsible for contributing towards and executing Ascension’s data acquisition strategy for internal & external (i.e. non-Ascension data) and architecture related to the exchange, storage and serving of the data. This person must have experience with InterSystems HealthConnect and/or HealthShare.

  • Partner with business and clinical stakeholders to identify external data exchange requirements with key trading partners across the healthcare ecosystem

  • Understand the Ascension technology environment of applications & platforms -- purchased and internally developed -- into which external data will be made available through defined architectural patterns

  • Work with Ascension Markets to develop nationally informed market Data Interoperability & Exchange strategies in support of clinical objectives that are part of the strategic plan -- e.g., data needed to meet population health strategies

  • Based on inputs from a variety of technical and business & clinical stakeholders, develop a strategic vision roadmap on landing high-value external datasets -- real-time or otherwise.

  • Understand the market landscape on where and how external data can be accessed or procured -- for example National and Regional data exchange networks & HIEs, proprietary networks, point to point exchange, etc.-- based on data types and needs, distribution and reach, or other factors

  • Design and architect data exchange technologies capable of accessing external data through networks and/or strategic partner organizations

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with other architects to develop integration/interoperability architecture strategy

  • Works with business stakeholders and other IT partners to map requirements to technology

  • Oversee Integration Proof of Concepts (POCs)

  • Create a holistic end-to-end technical architecture and integration design that meets business objectives

  • Analyze and transform business requirements into scalable integration solutions

  • Focused on strategic and complex projects

  • Partner with delivery teams to ensure ensure integration and data standards are maintained across integration solutions

  • Act as a liaison with technical team members to ensure the design meets functional requirements

  • Develop secure integration designs aligned with data governance practices

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with high level Solution Architecture across different platforms, applications and landscapes.

  • Experience with InterSystems HealthConnect and/or HealthShare

  • Experience with REST API architecture and API Management technologies such as Apigee

  • Extensive knowledge of HL7 and FHIR

  • Thorough knowledge of general integration concepts

  • Knowledge of clinical & revenue cycle workflows

  • Fast learner with strong organizational skills

  • Adaptive and responsive

  • Self-starter and confident - willing to pose questions to leadership in order to aid in development of integration and interoperability strategy

  • 5+ years of Integration Architecture experience

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
