Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

As Microgrid Solution Architect, you will be

  • Working with other experts, provide the technical solutions integrating Energy Storage Systems (BESS, CESS, Flywheel, thermal storage…), power conditioning, balance of plant, power quality, grid automation (level 1 to 3), distributed energy resources (solar, wind, genset, aeroderivative turbines…), remote monitoring services, digital (APM and optimizers), cyber security… to meet customer requirements and main drivers (energy access, energy efficiency, energy security, reliability, resilience…) for inquiries received from business development leaders.

  • Provide technical leadership when assessing opportunities upfront for feasibility. Identify & mitigate the technical risks involved & communicate to the business development team.

  • Review customer site/plant information, understand customer drivers and environment and ensure offering satisfies customer requirements. Identify exceptions and/or required clarifications.

  • Generate cost estimates for proposed solutions and established quoting limits. Revise proposals as necessary based on both customer and GE engineering feedbacks.

  • Leverage SFDC to track customer activity, driving improved visibility. Comply with defined commercial processes.

  • Support regional commercial operations on converting the technical proposal into a ‘ready to deliver’ commercial proposal

  • Coordinate with sales force to make customer calls and presentations and participate in bid meetings and walk-through meetings with the customer as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a commercial, engineering, or technical sales function Operations, or Marketing) related to complex solutions rather than products.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel 30% of more of the time

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with system architecture

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in order to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely.

  • Proposal generation and technical reports writing in support of customer application

  • Experience in electrical grid code compliance (US)

  • Experience in grid forming inverter, controls or energy storage

  • Experience with the integration of renewable Distributed Resources
