PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $178,900.00-$218,400.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $138,800.00 - $258,500.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. At BECU, as a Principal Solutions Engineer, you’ll be the driving force behind creating innovative products tailored to provide exceptional experiences for our internal and external members. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and play a pivotal role in crafting technical solutions that differentiate BECU in the market. Through your leadership, expert design, and mentoring, you’ll uplift the technical prowess of our organization and deliver remarkable consumer financial solutions. Your work will cover the spectrum from application design to cloud-ready financial solutions, ensuring both new and existing systems are robust and secure.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Innovative Leadership: Guide the design and development of groundbreaking solutions by blending technical leadership with a deep understanding of business strategy. Partner directly with senior business leaders to align technological advancements with strategic goals.

  • Systems Design: Transform stakeholder requirements into detailed system designs that support effective implementation and meet non-functional needs. Collaborate with Enterprise and Solutions Architecture for high-level design of new technologies and solutions.

  • Secure Application Development: Lead the integration and coding practices for secure application development, focusing on creating cloud-ready financial solutions that enhance both new and existing systems.

  • Vision and Conceptualization: Develop and present industry-leading solutions by visualizing and articulating innovative concepts that address complex business challenges.

  • Prototyping Solutions: Build and refine prototypes to solve intricate business problems, working closely with business unit managers and senior technology leaders.

  • Strategic Technological Insight: Utilize your expert technical knowledge and business acumen to envision and implement strategic technological solutions. Stay updated with industry trends to keep BECU ahead in the market.

  • Community Engagement: Communicate and present ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences within and outside of BECU. Maintain an active presence in the technical community, representing BECU at industry events.

  • Mentorship and Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship across all levels of the organization, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement in technical domains.

  • Enterprise-Wide Implementation: Lead and implement large, complex projects across the enterprise, ensuring cohesive collaboration and delivery across multiple teams.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience required. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of information technology experience with demonstratedexpertise in application design required.

  • Experience with Financial products (e.g., Credit Card, Mortgage, Loan, Deposits) required.

  • Demonstrated experience in consumer financial products with expertise in UX, integration, and API layer required.

  • Experience with public cloud (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud) technologies including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings required.

  • Demonstrated experience with .NET, C#, node.js, and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, etc.) or Python.

  • Strong understanding of SOLID design principles, Object-Oriented Programming, and Design.

  • Experience leading and collaborating with multiple teams for enterprise-wide initiatives, including business unit teams, to deliver solutions through all aspects of the SDLC required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • System administration and automation with Powershell or bash preferred.

  • Expertise with SOA patterns and distributed systems design preferred.

  • Experience with CI/CD systems and tools such as Azure DevOps Services, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Teamcity preferred.

  • Industry conference experience presenting to both technically adept and non-technical audiences preferred.
