Job Description

We are looking for a Lab Health Engineer to maintain and manage VMware virtualization environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. This position will be a full-time and remote work set-up

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and manage VMware virtualization environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance

  • Demonstrate expert-level proficiency with vCenter, including deployment, configuration, and administration of virtual infrastructure

  • Handle infrastructure support tickets, providing timely and effective resolutions to issues

  • Design and create new virtual machines according to project requirements and best practices

  • Manage user accounts and access control using Active Directory, including creating new users and resolving access issues

  • Possess a robust understanding of networking fundamentals, including the ability to troubleshoot connections and utilize tools such as ping for diagnostics

  • Have a thorough knowledge of Network Interface Cards (NICs), their functions, and management within virtual environments

  • Undertake project-related tasks, contributing to the planning and execution of infrastructure projects

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Proven experience with VMware environments and vCenter at an expert level

  • Familiarity with virtual machine creation, configuration, and management

  • Experience with Active Directory, including user account creation and access troubleshooting

  • Strong foundational knowledge of networking principles and troubleshooting techniques

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, ensuring seamless domain integration

  • Knowledge of NIC card utilization and storage within virtual contexts

  • Capable of taking on project management and execution with minimal supervision

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to maintaining high-quality lab environments

Preferred:

  • Relevant certifications in VMware, Microsoft, or networking are highly desirable

  • Exceptional communication and documentation skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently when required

  • A proactive approach to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies
