Job Description
We are looking for a Lab Health Engineer to maintain and manage VMware virtualization environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. This position will be a full-time and remote work set-up
What You’ll Do
Maintain and manage VMware virtualization environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance
Demonstrate expert-level proficiency with vCenter, including deployment, configuration, and administration of virtual infrastructure
Handle infrastructure support tickets, providing timely and effective resolutions to issues
Design and create new virtual machines according to project requirements and best practices
Manage user accounts and access control using Active Directory, including creating new users and resolving access issues
Possess a robust understanding of networking fundamentals, including the ability to troubleshoot connections and utilize tools such as ping for diagnostics
Have a thorough knowledge of Network Interface Cards (NICs), their functions, and management within virtual environments
Undertake project-related tasks, contributing to the planning and execution of infrastructure projects
What You'll Need
Required:
Proven experience with VMware environments and vCenter at an expert level
Familiarity with virtual machine creation, configuration, and management
Experience with Active Directory, including user account creation and access troubleshooting
Strong foundational knowledge of networking principles and troubleshooting techniques
Ability to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, ensuring seamless domain integration
Knowledge of NIC card utilization and storage within virtual contexts
Capable of taking on project management and execution with minimal supervision
Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to maintaining high-quality lab environments
Preferred:
Relevant certifications in VMware, Microsoft, or networking are highly desirable
Exceptional communication and documentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently when required
A proactive approach to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies
