PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $100,900-$123,200 annually. The full Pay Range is $78,400-$145,800 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE :

The Sr Credit Risk Analyst plays a crucial role in shaping and implementing risk analytics and monitoring for BECU Credit Card and Other Unsecured lending portfolios. By leading discovery and measurement of risks, you’ll ensure adherence to credit union governance standards and play a key role in creating, implementing, and maintaining Credit Risk Management reporting and analytic frameworks. Acting as a representative between the department and other stakeholders, you will have a significant impact on the credit risk initiatives and portfolio origination, as well as member advocacy programs.

*This role can be done remotely from WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, SC, or GA.

WHAT YOU’LL DO :

  • Execute Data Discovery and Aggregation: Explore and aggregate data across multiple large databases to uncover actionable insights.

  • Develop Credit Risk Management-Centered Reporting: Create recurring and ad-hoc reporting suites to monitor loan portfolios and identify trends.

  • Investigate Risk Management Processes: Analyze data and collaborate with business unit personnel to validate data practices.

  • Conduct In-Depth Credit Risk Analysis: Identify potential threats and opportunities within loan portfolios using statistical evaluation and modeling techniques.

  • Partner with Senior Leadership: Support credit risk initiatives and drive changes to the risk appetite by providing valuable insights and analysis.

  • Mentor Junior Department Staff: Guide and encourage the development of junior staff members to improve overall department performance.

  • Ensure Compliance: Guarantee adherence to federal and state regulations and maintain necessary operational audit and management information reporting.

  • Support Employee and Member Advocacy: Design and implement programs that advocate for employees and members, collaborating with internal and external resources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field, or equivalent experience required.

  • Minimum 5 years of functional experience in credit risk analytics.

  • Experience with analysis of portfolio performance and articulating results and desired outcomes from a risk management perspective.

  • Working experience using quantitative software and database querying tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Python).

  • Working experience using presentation development software (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, PowerPoint).

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Advanced degree.

  • Experience working with Credit Card and/or Other Unsecured Lending products.

  • Experience in the financial services industry.

  • Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc.) with the ability to learn new software quickly.

  • Project management experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to collect pertinent data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
