GE Aerospace Staff Engineer - Fuels in Remote, Ohio

Job Description Summary

Sustainability, and as a part of it, the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), are growing focus areas for GE Aerospace. We are seeking a leader that will focus on helping GE Aerospace and industry achieve the goals established to reach a more sustainable future for aviation. The team member considered for this position will more specifically focus on supporting activities to incorporate SAF into operations, testing, and products. The team member will also support needs that might arise regarding conventional fuels, both in aviation, ground, and marine applications, such as fuel related field engine issue resolution, standards, fuel additives, engine technology programs where fuel performance is pushed to its limits. The team member will providing expertise and giving guidance to internal programs, customer teams, research groups, external efforts and, when needed, to industry fuels committees.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Contribute to fuel and fuel additive approval process.

• Support internal and industry fuel standards development and maintenance.

• Help execution of airline fuel demonstration activities.

• Support fuel related engine field issue investigations.

• Provide fuel related technical expertise and guidance internally externally.

• Represent GE Aerospace at committees and various other platforms when needed.

• Develop and provide internal and external training on fuels when needed.

• Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline.

• Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Basic Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.

• Demonstrated 5+ years' experience industrial experience in testing and evaluation

• Willingness to travel up to 25%

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
