GE Vernova On-Site Machining Repair Supervisor in Remote, Mississippi

Job Description Summary

OSS is looking for skilled & motivated Machining Supervisors with expertise in repairing Steam Turbine generation equipment. You will have a desire to learn and grow in this ever-evolving service industry.

You should have repair knowledge of steam or gas turbine rotating equipment and experience with the operation of large portable lathes, boring bars, drills and mills.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • This job requires extensive/frequent travel globally without restriction.

  • Supervise repairs at GE customer's site to ensure safe, quality, and timely completion of work.

  • Support pre-job planning including machine tooling preparation, and repair schedule estimate planning.

  • Setup and operate portable machine boring and milling equipment to perform complex repairs in a demanding mission-critical environment.

  • Provide technical and EHS direction to those performing the work on GE customer sites.

  • Ensure all job documentation is completed: Safety Task Assessments (STA), Safety Observations, Quality documents, Technical data sheets, and work procedures are followed.

  • Provide On-site Specialty services progress updates to internal customer team and OSS Service Management.

  • Will have some autonomy to make decisions within a define framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgement within established procedures.

  • Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college OR High school diploma / GED with/plus at least 4 years of mechanical repair job related experience

  • Min. of 3 years of field repairs services or factory/turbine repair experience

Other Eligibility:

  • Ability to travel extensively globally without limitations.

  • Commitment to environmental health and safety

  • High degree of experience / expertise with machining and repair of steam or gas turbine equipment repairs

  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications in standard and metric dimensions

  • Good written and oral communication skills

“For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position Total Base Pay Range is:72,400.00 - 90,500.00 - 108,600.00 USD Annual.

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a Variable Incentive Bonus of 5% and Overtime as applicable
