What you'll do... :

We are looking for an Accounting Professional to create long-term, trusting relationships with our Small Business clients by serving as their Onboarding Account Manager. The Onboarding Account Manager’s role is to guide a portfolio of assigned bookkeeping and payroll clients through the process of joining the Block Advisors family while ensuring a fast, consistent client experience. This role will serve as the gateway to recurring services and is a critical step in their journey with Block.

Account Managers are the business partner and accounting department for our Small Businesses. They help small businesses succeed as a trusted advisor. The Onboarding Account Manager will introduce our clients to working remotely with Block Advisors, onboard clients onto our various platforms, review previous client bookkeeping and/or payroll practices for compliance and make corrections where necessary, and provide administrative support to Block Advisors through updated client records and transferring the recurring service to an Account Manager upon completion. Responsibilities include oversight of entire client onboarding process from post-sale to recurring services, development of strong relationships with Small Business clients, partner with fulfillment teams, oversee client production quality assurance and deliver results and reports. Onboarding Account Managers will answer client queries and identify new business opportunities among new clients. In this role, Onboarding Account Managers are the liaise between Small Business clients and all functional internal teams.

Day to day, you'll...

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all assigned bookkeeping and payroll clients

  • Oversee entire client onboarding process from new sale transfer to platform onboarding and quality assurance, ensuring a great client experience and supporting the client throughout the process

  • Assist client onboarding onto accounting, payroll platforms and virtual tools, including state ID registrations

  • Examine and Request Source Documentation and Financial Statements to create accurate client records, including payroll and bookkeeping records, ID numbers and registrations, and tax filings

  • Review client financial statements for accuracy, making manual journal entries and corrections as needed

  • Review past payroll tax filings for accuracy, preparing amendments or late filings as necessary

  • Develop and maintain trusting and long-lasting advisor relationships with clients

  • Communicate bookkeeping and/or payroll results on behalf of the client with tax professionals who prepare the small business tax returns

  • Communicate with internal team members as you transfer out completed clients to Account Managers to engage ongoing services

  • Resourcefulness. You’ll be building something new. Proactively leveraging available resources and knowing when to ask for help

  • Research various payroll laws and requirements along with financial accounting research for compliance with GAAP

  • File after-the-fact payroll tax returns as needed in order to onboard clients into our platforms and bring them back into compliance

  • Be proactive in communicating with clients via e-mail, text, and phone to gather outstanding documents and collect on past due invoices

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

Work Experience:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to communicate difficult concepts as you will work with clients across the country with vastly different knowledge levels and technical proficiency

  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.

  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs.

  • Solid experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce or other)

  • Solid experience with payroll processing software (e.g. ADP, Quickbooks, Gusto, etc.)

  • Solid experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero, Quickbooks, etc.)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of payroll tax filings at the state and federal level

  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP

  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of business types and registrations on both the state and federal level

  • Comfort with working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to anticipate customers’ needs and match them with appropriate products and services.

  • Advanced problem resolution skills and communication abilities.

  • One year Account management experience.

  • A proven self-starter with the ability to prioritize their workload in a remote environment.
