BlueVoyant Benefits Administrator/Payroll Analyst in Remote, Maryland

Benefits Administrator/Payroll Analyst

This is a Temporary to Full-Time position

Location: United States Remote, East Coast Preferred

BlueVoyant is seeking to hire a Benefits Administrator/Payroll Analyst to support the benefits and payroll function for 500+ employees in the US and Canada. This person will work closely with the Director of HR, Payroll Manager and Controller, and be willing to “roll up their sleeves” and assist as needed in benefits administration and payroll processing.

 

Candidate must demonstrate progressive knowledge and experience in benefits administration and payroll processing. The company continues to grow quickly, and the candidate must therefore be willing to play a dynamic and fluid role within the HR Department.

Responsibilities:

Benefits Administration:

  • US:

  • Manage day-to-day employee transactions, making updates for new hire enrollments and terminations in the ADP WorkforceNow HRIS (WFN) site and communicate as required.

  • Communicate with employees and ensure that benefits deductions are updated for the corresponding payroll period.

  • Audit and verify accuracy of employee benefits deductions in ADP HRIS/payroll

  • Download monthly carrier invoices and forward to Accounts Payable Manager, as well as work with ADP Benefits Support team to coordinate any updates via the EDI carrier feeds

  • Manage quarterly reporting for NYS disability and paid family leave

  • Support HR Director in the annual benefits renewal process, communicating with employees, and scheduling open enrollment benefits presentations

  • Responsible for monthly updates to ACA reporting in ADP, as well as distribution of year end 1095/1094 statements

  • Track maternity/parental leave and coordinate leave reporting with the insurance carrier

  • Administer 401(k) enrollments and communicate with employees regarding their account on the Fidelity site

  • Distribute mandatory plan documents and notices in accordance with the DOL and IRS regulations

  • Run reports for annual 401(k) year-end discrimination testing and support production of reports for annual Form 5500 reporting

  • Work with WEX FSA and COBRA administrator to ensure accurate records, and update employee deductions in payroll and coordinate with Payroll Manager

  • Review all HRIS data entry information, including new hire information, terminations, compensation changes, etc. 

  • Validate employee earnings with supporting documentation

  • Maintain employee records in payroll/HRIS systems

  • Canada:

  • Work with Payroll Manager to ensure benefits deductions are accurate and up-to-date in the Canadian ADP TeamPay payroll system

  • Ensure that benefits contributions are uploaded to the Sunlife website, after each semi-monthly payroll.

  • Ensure that retirement contributions (DPSP-Employer/RRSP-Employee) are updated on the Manulife retirement site after each semi-monthly payroll

  • Coordinate with Canadian benefits brokers on any updates and communicate with employees regarding enrollments

    Payroll Administration

  • Will be a back-up for the Payroll Manager for both US and Canadian payrolls to input, process and submit semi-monthly payroll, working with HR Director and Controller to finalize

  • Support Payroll Manager activities for semi-monthly processing of payroll

  • Audit payroll and benefits data for accuracy, and investigate any unresolved discrepancies and update in ADP WFN/ADP TeamPay

  • Fulfill all governmental regulatory mandates and ensure filings are performed as required - ACA filing, Non-Discrimination testing, California Reporting, Form 5500, etc. 

  • Administer online COBRA enrollments/changes and respond to and manage unemployment claims. 

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HRIS, accounting or equivalent

  • Demonstrated progressive experience in benefits administration and payroll support

  • Familiar with the regulatory environment: ERISA, DOL, IRS Codes, COBRA, ADA. Health Plan knowledge, Section 125, FSA's, COBRA

  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize demands and meet deadlines

  • Work well with HR and Finance team members

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
