Zero Hash Technical Accounting and Reporting Manager in Remote, Illinois

About the Role

As the Technical Accounting and Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of financial results in accordance with U.S. GAAP for Zero Hash Holdings and the U.S. subsidiaries, and IFRS for the international subsidiaries. You will work closely with the Global Corporate Controller and Accounting Directors to streamline financial reporting for various external and internal stakeholders, interpret U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting standards to determine appropriate accounting treatment for new and existing products, and enhance accounting policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS for internal and external stakeholders (e.g., regulators and investors). This includes monthly and quarterly reporting requirements in addition to the annual audited financial statements and footnotes

  • Manage the annual financial statement audit by ensuring key audit deliverables are tracked, coordinated with cross-functional teams, and delivered on time

  • Enhance and streamline existing, and develop new, accounting policies and procedures over areas including revenue recognition, measurement of digital assets, and stock based compensation

  • Maintain the Finance controls register and coordinate with internal audit to identify and remediate findings related to Finance processes, procedures, and controls

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to to determine the accounting treatment for new and existing products which includes the research and preparation of technical accounting memos

  • Track emerging U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting updates, assess impact, and communicate findings to management

  • Assist in month end close activities for multiple legal entities, which may include processes related to internal crypto reconciliation, stock based compensation, and consolidation

    Requirements

  • 7+ years' experience in accounting and reporting at regulated financial services firms (FinTech, banking, payments, lending, broker dealer, crypto) and/or public accounting experience

  • 3+ years prior public accounting experience

  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting and experience with the audit process

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge over revenue recognition, stock based compensation, the accounting for digital assets, and consolidation including foreign currency revaluation

  • Attention to detail in reviewing accounting transactions, preparing financial statements, accounting policies and procedures

  • Experience in implementing policies and procedures to comply with new legal or regulatory requirements

  • Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and management about the financial statements and technical accounting matters

  • Expertise in one or more ERP systems. (NetSuite (preferred), Oracle Cloud ERP, Sage Intacct, SAP ERP, Microsoft Dynamics)

  • CPA (or equivalent) required

    Preferred

  • IFRS accounting experience a plus

  • Experience with accounting for non-depository trust activity

  • Experience implementing a digital assets accounting tool (TaxBit, Tres Finance, Cryptio)
