Overview:

As a Data QA Analyst, you will be responsible for verifying the quality of data used for various purposes within the organization. You will work closely with data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements, develop testing strategies, and implement quality assurance processes. Your role will involve analyzing data sets, identifying discrepancies or anomalies, performing data validation, and ensuring adherence to data quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of data to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability.

  • Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on data requirements and specifications.

  • Execute test cases to validate data integrity and functionality.

  • Analyze large data sets to identify data quality issues, anomalies, and discrepancies.

  • Investigate root causes and propose solutions for resolution.

  • Document test results, findings, and issues encountered during testing. Maintain comprehensive documentation of data quality processes and procedures.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and IT professionals to understand data needs and ensure data quality standards are met.

  • Generate reports and metrics to track data quality performance.

  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization in data quality assurance processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in in data quality assurance, data analysis, or related roles.

  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing data.

  • Advanced Excel skills, including functions, formulas, PivotTables, and data visualization techniques.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R is desirable.

  • Knowledge API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, RestAssured, or similar is desirable.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 / annually

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
