We have an exciting opportunity for a Master Data Analyst on our Quality Analytics & Reporting team within Quality Risk Management. We need someone who is driven to deliver results and has strong and proactive communication skills. As an analytics expert, you will not only facilitate delivery of insights to multiple businesses but will take an active role in identification of root causes to prevent and eliminate recurring issues. As a Master Data Analyst, you will lead projects to design and create complex reports and dashboards, and analyze data using advanced statistical analysis tools and techniques. You will direct and mentor junior staff to develop, validate, and deliver high-quality analytics to enhance the quality of our clinical trials. A strong candidate for this role will be highly analytical and process oriented, with a consistent record to find opportunities, tackle problems, develop, and implement project plans. You will also have a confirmed history of working efficiently and transparently across functional teams.

What will you do?

  • Collaborate with Quality business partners to understand and support their analytical needs and deliver useful insights to relevant decision-makers.

  • Design, develop & enhance global reports and dashboards. Build and maintain innovative interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources.

  • Statistically analyze data to answer key questions from business partners or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.

  • Ensure data accuracy by directing & managing end-user tool validation activities. Directs data audits of critical fields in various tools, databases, & dashboard.

  • Prioritize requests for delivery of reports, data, and dashboards and coordinate activities of other personnel. Independently identify methods and procedures on new assignments. Review completed work before sending to customer.

  • Work with data architecture teams to design datasets and data pipelines necessary to support development of analytics and reporting.

  • Take ownership for achieving results within the specified time period and provides regular updates to leadership.

  • Implements standard processes & practices in support of various systems and tools.

  • Advise leadership regarding development and/or optimization of function-specific metrics, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Serve as a subject matter authority for data analytics and analysis and mentor junior team members. Proactively identifies & actions training opportunities for staff.

  • Work on sophisticated issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in a scientific and/or quantitative field.

  • Advanced skills in software used in business intelligence (such as Excel, Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau).

  • 12+ years of practical experience in applying statistical analysis to data using software (such as Minitab, SAS).

  • 5+ years of structured problem-solving use with a proven track record of finding ways to improve processes.

  • Conversationally proficient in data science. Basic knowledge of SQL preferred.

  • An ability to clearly explain data insights to teams and provide options for next steps.

  • Project management skills with demonstrated ability to take initiative, supervise and handle own deadlines, drive projects to completion

  • Good communication skills and the ability to influence senior leadership, along with all levels of the organization

  • Strong organizational skills with solid attention to detail for production of high quality work.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in office productivity applications (such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Excel)

  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on understanding customer requirements.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments with challenging timelines.

  • Ability to lead team meetings, communications and process flows within departmental structure and across functional groups.

  • English language proficiency (verbal and written).

  • High ethical standards to support a professional business code of conduct.
