Job Description

Summarized Purpose:

Coordinates and manages the final quality of assigned translations to ensure a high quality standard.

Manages language assets, e.g. translation memories, terminology and style guides.

Essential Functions:

Performs translation tasks including initial translation, revision and quality

checks.

Develops and maintains terminology for assigned languages.

Ensures translation memories is updated for assigned languages.

Sets and executes linguistic quality assurance process for assigned languages,

and globally as required.

Uses established tools to monitor quality of outsourced language translations.

Analyzes language quality issues and works on improvement plan with project

management.

Works on assigned projects by the Language Services department.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in translations, linguistics or language studies with significant translation studies from a recognized institution or higher education.

Bachelor's degree in another field and 2 years of translation experience (preferred in clinical translation)

If no Bachelor's degree, 5 years of translation experience (preferred in clinical translation).

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to

2+ years).

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training

and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

2 years proven translation experience, preferred in clinical translation

CAT/TMS tool experience required

Proven Terminology and TM experience required

Proven skills of multi-tasking, time management, organization, and attention to detail

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Proficiency in MS Office suite
