REED CITY GROUP Senior Manufacturing Engineer in REED CITY, Michigan

Reed City Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for its Reed City Michigan facility. Main duties include:

Utilize mechanical and chemical engineering skills and experience to design, integrate and improve manufacturing processes and systems for the production of plastic and injection molded automotive components. Develop robust APQP process for new program launches. Develop chemical formulations for materials produced in the plastic injection molding process. Study and implement continuous process improvement and troubleshooting after product launch through the following: automation, improved human resource alignment, optimal layout analysis and the removal of wasted movement, production and automation teams. Investigate and resolve operational and quality issues. Participate in DOEs and process capability studies. Incorporate new manufacturing methods and processes to improve operations. Utilize, implement and maintain IATF16949 quality systems. Provide technical support to sales, production and automation teams. Review supplier quotes and serve as a liaison between Reed City Groups design teams and suppliers to ensure proper standards and project timing are met. Assist in developing and selecting Chinese suppliers for products consumed in North American market, and conduct travel to China to provide supplier development support and successful product launches.

 

  • The minimum requirements for the job are:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10 years of experience in engineering, which must include demonstrated experience designing production automation, assembly and test equipment, gages, fixtures and tooling, and PPAP in performing duties. Must be fluent in Chinese.
  • The successful candidate must be able to travel overseas when needed and must speak fluent Chinese in order to communicate with vendors/customers.
