The ideal candidate:

  • State RVT license preferred

  • Previous Internal Medicine experience desired

  • Flexible with work hours

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Passion for helping people and their pets

     

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

  • 2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate

  • Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations

  • Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)

Duties:

  • Catheter placement

  • Radiology

  • Anesthesia monitoring

  • Physical examinations and patient assessment

  • Laboratory work

  • Pharmacy

  • Patient recovery

  • Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients

  • Set up constant rate infusions (CRI)

  • Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc)

  • Induce, monitor and recover patients from anesthesia

  • Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures

  • Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway)

  • Patient discharge and client education

     Compensation Ranges: 

$25.00 - $36.00 hourly Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
