We are looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager - Developer Databases on Azure who is a strategic marketer with an interest in the future of application development on cloud platforms. The Azure Data product marketing team is seeking an exceptional marketer to grow our cloud database business by driving app developer acquisition of Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure SQL Hyperscale, and Azure Database for MySQL.

In this role, you will reach and engage developers to build awareness, trial, and acquisition for Azure’s developer-focused relational databases.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute go-to-market strategies that increase developer awareness, acquisition, and revenue growth for PostgreSQL – one of the fastest-growing databases in the market - and other managed open source databases on Azure.

  • Drive acquisition of software developers to use MySQL and other open source database technologies on Azure by creating and delivering compelling messaging, content, and campaigns.

  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, and other Marketing teams to conduct market and customer research to deeply understand target audiences, market trends, and competitive offerings.

  • Partner with other developer-focused product marketing teams, such as Azure Kubernetes Service, DevOps, and GitHub, to create a holistic message and strategy to raise awareness and drive trial and adoption among target audiences.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering (product management and developer advocates), sales, public relations (PR), and social media, to plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns and programs.

  • Measure and optimize the impact of marketing activities on key performance indicators, such as awareness, leads, trials, and user acquisition.

  • Present opportunities and strategies to senior leaders, and influence wider brand and organizational strategies.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in business

  • OR Master's Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in business

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of product or brand marketing experience.

  • 3+ years of experience creating frameworks, targeted messaging, and product positioning for different audiences and channels.

  • 3+ years of experience presenting to large and diverse audiences of customers, press, analysts, senior stakeholders, and internal audiences.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in business

  • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience with PostgreSQL or other open source technologies.

  • Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and senior level executives.

Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 - $213,200 per year.
