Microsoft Corporation Senior Product Manager - Windows Operating Systems in Redmond, Washington

The Azure Edge+Platform CoreOS team builds the most critical platforms to power nearly every business in Microsoft, including Windows Client, Windows Server, Azure, Gaming and M365. Our CoreOS Componentization team is focused on designing, building and delivering the CoreOS platform capabilities to lead innovations in how we build customized versions of the Windows operating system for Modern Devices.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager - Windows Operating Systems to join our team

Responsibilities

  • Define and establish Windows Validation OS program goals, objectives, and deliverables specific to Client and Cloud SoC silicon development.

  • Collaborate closely with silicon/OEM partner teams to understand Windows Validation OS design requirements for pre-silicon/silicon and manufacturing functional and formal verification to identify and debug silicon design issues and ensure correct design behavior.

  • Foster a collaborative and product work environment, promoting effective communication, teamwork, and knowledge sharing within the Windows Validation OS Client and product development teams.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in silicon architectures, machine learning accelerators, and related fields to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience with system software, firmware, or hardware program or product management

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to articulate product vision, drive direction for diverse stakeholders across multiple disciplines, influence engineering decision-making, and understand dependencies from both internal stakeholders as well as silicon partners

  • Ability to multi-task across teams, organizations, companies, and disciplines to facilitate conversations to drive silicon and OS strategy as well as track co-engineering execution per current planning/development cycle for Windows Client + Cloud silicon.

  • Ability to efficiently solve complex problems, independently and in collaboration with peers

  • Experienced & Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly in addressing challenges specific to SoC chip development.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, prioritize multiple strategic and tactical options, drive issues to closure with a high bar on quality, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Project experience working across hardware and software such as OS, driver, firmware.

  • Data center hardware/software project experience from inception to go live.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
