The Cloud Ecosystem Security team is one of Microsoft's fastest growing businesses, with the mission to make the world safer and more productive for all. The team protects Azure, Microsoft's cloud platform, builds security product offerings for customers across clouds, and contributes to the global ecosystem of defenders, researchers and security policy makers.

As the Senior Front End Software Engineer, you will lead product features and experiences for a new security marketplace offering. This exciting new product offering will help partners build on new security platform capabilities such as Security Copilot, extend capabilities of Microsoft’s existing security products (Defender, Sentinel and Purview across M365 and Azure), and offer organizations of all sizes a purpose-built, trustworthy one-stop marketplace that meets their security software needs. 

The successful candidate will be a front-end software developer, with a track record of collaboration working across diverse and complex teams. Deep customer empathy and the ability to translate individual customer needs into requirements for broad platform experiences is critical.

  • Manage complex projects from conception to implementation. 

  • Contribute to strategic planning and long-term technical roadmaps. 

  • Drive development of new marketplace features and user interfaces. 

  • Lead in-depth investigations and debugging of complex performance issues in web applications, ensuring optimal user experience and system efficiency. 

  • Design and implement robust performance testing strategies to proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks in application performance. 

  • Work collaboratively with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to deliver compelling, user-focused products. 

  • Lead and mentor junior team members in best practices and coding standards.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

o OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of Web UI development experience including responsive design/progressive web apps.

  • 3+ years Experience leading technical teams and making critical architecture decisions.

  • 3+ years knowledge of Web technologies and frameworks including ReactJS, JavaScript, Typescript, CSS, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior deep experience in building security applications/services or extensive experience building online marketplaces and digital storefront experiences

  • Have 7+ years of Web UI development experience including responsive design/progressive web apps.

  • A track record of building reliable, well-tested applications.

  • Familiarity with Agile and iterative development processes.

  • Problem-solving skills, great teamwork, and most importantly, passion for UX.

  • Ability to communicate technical details clearly.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
