We are the Azure Care Platform team in Azure CXP, our primary mission is to provide AI based contextually available support + troubleshooting experiences to Azure customers when and where they need help. Our top-level objectives include winning customer satisfaction by providing the help they need and reducing customer pain time. We enable other Azure product/service teams to build a best-in-class experiences on top of our self-served extensible platform.

We are looking for a collaborative and skilled Principal Software Engineer with a growth mindset who would love to work in an agile development team, embrace and solve new technology challenges. As a Principal Software Engineer on this team, you will help develop a world-class customer-centered engineering infrastructure and will have ample opportunities to make a positive impact and obtain valuable experience across the spectrum of technologies, from UI to back-end. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Azure product groups, 1P and 3P partners to architect and develop products and services meeting the troubleshooting needs for Supportability & DRIs.

  • Lead design & implementation of products using methodical engineering practices while delivering on business objectives, performance, and scalability requirements. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional peers like product/program managers, engineers, and data scientists to drive clarity on OKRs, product requirements and business metrics.

  • Lead product planning, costing exercises, set sprint objectives, drive execution & release plans.

  • Drive engineering excellence by raising the bar on code, design, fundamentals, and quality through technical leadership.

  • Communicate architectural decisions, technical concepts, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Build large-scale core infrastructure and backend services for the product.

  • Optimize existing systems and applications for cloud deployment, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. 

  • Drives’ engineering fundamentals, security, and quality roadmaps.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends especially on open AI, and LLMs and drive innovation in products leveraging emerging tech.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

  • 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
