The Copilot for Sales team is transforming the way that sellers work—allowing them to focus on building relationships with customers, empowering them to take data driven actions, and optimizing their sales effectiveness. We’re leveraging modern design paradigms, innovative AI technology, and integration with Microsoft 365 productivity apps—with a deep commitment to customer privacy, accessibility, and AI ethics.  

We are seeking a Principal Product Designer with enterprise product design experience to help create the next wave of AI-powered experiences for sellers. For this role we’re looking for a leader with exceptional design skills and strategic thinking ability; you should have superb visual and interaction design skills and be comfortable with the ambiguity involved in inventing v1 experiences.

You will influence stakeholders with concepts and prototypes and evangelize new customer experiences. You will also help evolve our design system, working across teams to bring design coherence to our framework and create beautiful, inclusive, and accessible experiences that customers love.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product experience strategy, interaction design, creative direction, and craftsmanship for a v1 product.

  • Drive collaboration across all disciplines from early product stages to implementation.

  • Understand the behaviors, motivations, and needs of our users to develop relevant and impactful experiences.

  • Propose creative solutions to complex user experience journeys, drawing on your ability to map end-to-end experiences.

  • Identify new opportunities and generate innovative ideas to improve our processes, products, and culture, influencing design direction and research methodologies.

  • Improve UX through the creation of interaction models while acting as a liaison between users and products. 

  • Tell a compelling, convincing product story to a variety of audiences that influences buy-in from key stakeholders. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design

  • OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design

  • OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems)

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years enterprise software design experience

  • 2+ years' experience shipping AI or ML (machine learning) experiences and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.  

  • Proficient visual design skills with relevant portfolio examples

  • Ability to energize teams and advocate for your ideas

  • Experience building, refining, or improving design systems at scale.  

  • Experience with React, JS, HTML, CSS  

Product Design IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
