If so, we’d love to talk with you about a PM Manager opportunity leading the Fuel ENG Experience PM organization. Fuel ENG Experience comprises of the Developer Platform, E+D 1JS, E+D Engineering Security and E+D NSat & Listening team. This is a big role - you will co-lead these areas alongside the Group Engineering Manager and your team will PM the work of over forty engineers with opportunity for both Office and E+D division-wide impact.

The Office Engineering Developer Platform team is responsible for the core aspects of the engineering experience in Office, including source control, code review, code search, IDE, the CLI experience as well as our feedback and listening tools and processes which we use to measure NSat (Net Satisfaction) and turn the feedback from engineers and PDUC (PM, Data Science, User Experience and Content) disciplines into actionable insights. These are many of the critical components we use to design, build and deploy the Office product suite. Our current mission is completing Office’s journey from our legacy Engineering System to Git/Azure DevOps to improve the satisfaction of our 4000 engineer customers by offering modern tooling and a fast, reliable PR-centric development workflow. The E+D 1JS team has a division-wide charter building a common, industry standard Engineering System optimized for JavaScript development across the E+D division. Similarly, the newly minted E+D Engineering Systems Security team will own and build solutions for common, division-wide Engineering Systems security requirements to ensure our Engineering Systems and supply chains remain secure and compliant.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and growing a team of PMs while leading by example with a great growth mindset.

  • Increasing the efficiency for Office engineers to deliver new experiences across all platforms and services - rapidly develop, validate, and deploy innovation and fixes within minutes or hours.

  • Increasing Office and E+D engineer satisfaction and productivity through faster, more robust, modern engineering tools and services.

  • Collaborating with other engineering teams at Microsoft to build and onboard to 1ES systems and technology with the goal of making E+D engineers more productive and satisfied.

  • Ensure we do all of the above in an entirely secure and compliant manner.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience working in the software industry.

  • 5+ years of experience in leadership role(s) in the software industry.

  • Experience leading with and making decisions based on data and metrics

  • Experience defining, measuring, innovating and driving change in large-scale software products and systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven technical skills and independence

  • Excellent cross-discipline leadership, collaboration and influencing skills. Lead, drive change and influence without authority across groups

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate business problems, alternatives, and product strategy

  • Ability to concisely frame problems and design simple solutions
