Data Scientist BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist opportunity in Redmond, WA. Position Title: Data Scientist Location: Redmond, WA Anticipated Start Date: ASAP Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. Expected Duration: 3 Months Job Type: Full time Contract Pay Range: $85 to $90 Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). Requirements: Job Description: Title: Data Scientist Location: Redmond, WA Duration: 3 Months Summary: We are looking for a Data Scientist with a drive to achieve high impact, high quality results for Minecraft. In this role, you will be responsible for driving insights that inform the Studio's player support and experimentation strategies. You'll partner with business and engineering teams to ensure robust reporting on business metrics and make recommendations to optimize product health and collaborate on experiments to improve player experiences. You will develop and lead analysis that identify key drivers of acquisition, engagement, and monetization. Job Responsibilities: * Identify key learnings from analysis and synthesize them into recommendations for stakeholders. * Manage partnerships with Product, Marketing, and other teams to integrate insights into product decisions. * Be self-driven and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete or dirty data. * Work with the Engineering team to build and maintain reporting queries for monitoring business health. * Manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources using a variety of tools and data analysis techniques. Qualifications: * 8+ years of experience in business analytics, with a focus on subscriptions. * 8 +years of experience with SQL, bonus if familiar with Spark SQL, Databricks, or Azure Data Explorer. * Proficient in a statistical programming language such as Python or PySpark. * Able to work in a collaborative, diverse and fast-paced team. * Excellent analytical, and problem-solving skills and autonomy when faced with solving data problems. * Excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills. * Interest in games, bonus if experience in gaming industry. * Local to Seattle area. Candidate Requirements * Years of Experience Required: 8 overall years of experience in the field. * Degrees or certifications required: MIS (management information systems), statistics background, MBA business degree is preferred degree is required to be eligible for this role. * Disqualifiers: N/A * Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain communication/stakeholder relationships, good understanding of digital monitoring (experience in subscriptions) Spotify experience, digital product, sequel experience. * Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work and meeting deadlines. Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience * Minimum 8 years' experience with communication. * Minimum 8 years' experience with stakeholder relationships. * Minimum 8 years' experience with understanding of digital monitoring.
