CNC PROGRAMMER (STARLINK) - LEVEL 4/5 The CNC Programmer role here at SpaceX is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of all CNC machining and programming operations. This role is tasked with working in close concert with machinist, leads, engineering teams, and machining operations management to increase productivity and optimizing machining programs and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES: Use of NX or MasterCam CAD/CAM/CAE program to program CNC parts Vericut NC files as well as maintain revision control on programs and setup sheets Knowledgeable of cutting tools and adjusting speed and feed parameters for maximum tool life Makes or offers suggestions on drawing changes to improve manufacturability Constantly keeps products moving and alerting management when production is inhibited Provides consistent ideas for process improvements Mentors motivated machinists with programming knowledge Turn-key part manufacturing involving planning tools and materials, programming and machining parts for critical part processes Machining parts occasionally to assist the shop floor when machining is backlogged BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalency certificate 5+ years of CNC programming experience using NX or MasterCam software PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 10+ years of CNC programming experience using NX or MasterCam software Ability to program in both NX and MasterCam Experience with programming and operating multi axis mill and lathe CNC machines ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be available for 2nd shift (3:30 PM to 2 AM) Must be available for overtime and weekend hours Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted Ability to stand for extended periods - 8 hours min Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces Ability to work in an environment with repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay range: CNC Programmer/Level 4: $44.00 - $54.00/hour CNC Programmer/Level 5: $48.00 - $62.00/hour Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
