Cascade Engineering Services Calibration Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

Our tech moves beyond screens and pixels, creating a new reality aimed at bringing us closer together—whether that’s scientists “meeting” on the surface of a virtual Mars or some yet undreamt-of possibility. To get there, we’re incorporating diverse groundbreaking technologies from sensors, computer vision, machine learning, human-computer interaction, AI, and more.

The Mixed Reality Systems and Software Engineering team has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Senior Calibration Software Engineer with experience in C++ and/or Python, computer vision, and image processing, to help us develop calibration solutions for upcoming products.

Responsibilities

· Implement and advance calibration solutions for mixed reality devices, with focus on calibration of cameras and displays, and evaluate their performance.

· Solve computer vision, image processing, and optimization problems arising in geometric calibration of mixed reality devices.

· Support manufacturing and factory calibration of mixed reality devices.

· Evaluate requirements, design and implement software, improve the development process and perform integration and testing.

Qualifications:

· A BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.

· 5 years of professional experience developing and shipping software in C++ or Python

· Familiarity with fundamental concepts of computer visions/image processing

· This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services governed by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Due to contractual limitations and ITAR obligations associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) is required and work onsite (Microsoft Redmond Sites)

Preferred Qualifications:

· Academic or professional experience with applications of computer vision, image processing, machine learning, robotics, computer graphics, or related disciplines

· Camera driver SW development on Qualcomm (QC) Platform

· Experience in Azure DevOps.
