Sims Lawn and Landscaping LLC Crew Member in Reading, Pennsylvania

Position: Crew Member

 

Pay Day: Friday at the end of workday for the previous work week.

 

Start Time: 7 am to 5 pm. Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm.

             

                             There may be time that you might have to work late or get done early. If it rains two days in a week, you will be expected to work on Saturdays to help with the work load. Sims Lawn and landscaping will do it best to notify you if you are working Saturday. In the winter months you will be expected to help with snow removal services. Start times for winter will vary due to the weather.

 

Expectations:  You must be comfortable operating lawn maintenance equipment, such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowers, and understand how to water, fertilize, and prune decorative shrubs and plants. We pride ourselves in keeping our clients' exterior safe and looking beautiful, so our team works in various types of weather conditions and performs maintenance duties to ensure employee safety during inclement weather by removing debris, snow, and ice from communal walkways and spaces.

 

*Job Responsibilities:     * Caring for lawns and plants using a variety of tools, including rakes, saws, shovels, trimmers, axes and pruning saws, to ensure they remain aesthetically pleasing.

Mow the grass using edger and mowers, keeping it at an optimal height.

Keep plants and flowers healthy by pruning and trimming trees and shrubs and weeding, mulching and aerating.

Plant new grass and foliage following planned designs to create the yard as prescribed by the client and/or landscape designer.

Keep flower beds and garden areas clean by picking up any dead branches and flowers as well as trimming or picking the plants as needed.

Assist in placing decorative rocks, stones, statues and other items around the lawn to facilitate the completion of the overall aesthetic look.

 

*Other Job Responsibilities:        * Sharpening Mower blades, organizing garage, keeping truck and trailer clean. There may be times that jobs will not be in the landscaping industry.

 

*Rain Days: * If there is shop work that needs done. It will be up to the owner if you are needed.

 

*Time Off:           * if you need to call off. You must notify us in one hour before your start time. This will help us find a replacement for the day. If you call off too many times it may lead to termination of employment.
