What is LTDP?

Caterpillar's Leadership and Technical Development Program (LTDP) for Operations Leadership is a three-year rotational program designed to accelerate development of entry-level talent and provide a solid foundation for meeting challenges within operations and manufacturing.  Being part of the LTDP team offers you a broad exposure to Caterpillar, presents diverse project responsibilities, engages you in a global team, provides cross-functional job experiences and includes valuable networking opportunities with all levels of Caterpillar leadership. This program provides the foundation for future success of Caterpillar's Operations leaders. Caterpillar's Operations Leadership track is focused on building technical capabilities for managing Caterpillar's Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain functions. This opportunity advances your development and training to build future leaders within Operations and Manufacturing. At the successful completion of the three-year program, Operations Leadership professionals are placed into permanent positions with an expectation of being in those positions two to three years.

What You Will Do

Professionals within the program will complete three rounds of12-month rotations, which are defined based on business needs. You’ll join a team with diverse project responsibilities and have experiences include (but not limited to):

Operations area: Responsible and accountable for the activities of a production or logistics line/area while supervising and directing the daily activities of workers, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance.

Quality area: To perform a variety of duties related to the development and implementation of methods, procedures and equipment used in Quality. This role is fundamentally a reactive quality role responding to daily quality issues found in the manufacturing facility.

Engineering area: Responsible and accountable for enhancements and modifications to equipment and processes in our facilities, monitoring equipment and process reliability, identifying and addressing problem areas and providing engineering support on equipment, processes, or facilities.

Supply Chain area:  Analyzes and maintains assigned processes that produce output excellence, builds expertise for the assigned process area, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Leads project management of process improvement, process development, and process execution for Supply Chain teams.

Logistics area: Responsible and accountable for continuous improvements for logistics processes to maximize efficiency and productivity, evaluating logistics processes and workflows, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions for process-related concerns.

Planning, Demand, & Orders area: Participates in analyses to support businesses, determine sales and product demand supporting the sales and operations process, ensures availability of inventory for assigned products.

In this program, you will have the opportunity to contribute your unique skills and gain some new skillset such as Analytical skills, initiating ideas, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities. Not only that, but you will also have ability to work with others of diverse cultures, interpersonal styles, in a constructive and collaborative manner. You will experience firsthand fundamental understanding of business process designs, engineering for a manufacturing environment, supplier relationship management concepts, and logistics and supply chain management. You will have opportunity to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ability to quickly gain and effectively apply new skills & knowledge. Therefore, we are looking for top notch candidates with strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to participate in and build on our inclusive, constructive, and productive work environment. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing/ Supply Chain Management/Logistics other relevant degree

  • Minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 – 4.0 (no rounding) at current institution or latest institution

  • TOEIC > 550 (would be an advantage)

  • Fresh graduates and/or new entry to workforce are highly welcome

  • Proven track record of involvement with academic campus activity and/or academic contest
