Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - CATIA

Job Description

We are hiring a CATIA Mechanical Design Engineer for the ADAS department. Duties include conducting design feasibility and cost analysis, strength calculations, material selection, part construction, part specification, and scheduling and coordinating activities involved in prototyping and manufacturing of assigned products.

  • Draft engineering solutions for assigned components or parts and the associated drawings and 3D layouts. Confirm and track the feasibility, costs, quality, and performance.

  • Work under the guidance of engineers to confirm designs for assigned components or parts, then present at team evaluations. Inform manufacturing, technical evaluators, and suppliers.

  • Prepare documents for evaluations (Cost, Checklists, Technical and Styling feasibility).

  • Project and supplier management.

  • Conduct customer and market studies of new technologies.

  • Engage in self-improvement and training.

Collaborate with higher-level engineers and experts to ensure components and parts meet layout, quality, cost, performance, and regulatory requirements. Travel may be required to various facilities and suppliers, primarily within North America.

Hard Skills

  • CATIA V5 or V6

  • Product Design (sheet metal design, injection model, sheet metal design, stamping and general part design)

  • Automotive Product Design

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 2 Year(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Raymond, Ohio and some days remote.

Work Environment

Team of about 15 Designers in an R&D Environment.
