We are currently searching for a Systems Administrator to join our global digital technology industry 4.0 team. As a Systems Administrator you will have the opportunity be involved with data-driven industry 4.0 projects that are transforming our factories into connected ecosystems. Our team works with industry leading IIoT platforms to create, support, and sustain software solutions that have real world impacts on people, equipment, and products. These solutions ensure safer work environments, reduce defects in the manufacturing process, unlock the innovative power of big data, and ultimately contribute to air traffic safety

As a member of the Connected Operations IIoT team you will have the opportunity to get hands-on with information systems and manufacturing devices to create new solutions, enhancements, break-fix, analysis, deployment, and sustainment support across a diverse landscape of locations and system environments. You will also be working with customers, taking in requirements, working with vendors, and internal partners to solve complex technical challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage medium to large scale Industry 4.0 platform and application deployment projects and sustainment.

  • Technical focal point and application owner for medium to large scale Industry 4.0 platform and applications

  • Analyze complex business requirements and make recommendations on potential solutions.

  • Translate business requirements into designs and specifications.

  • Provide support for current and legacy applications across our global footprint.

  • Perform system installations, integrations, configuration, hardening, security reviews, log management, application patching, and change requests.

  • Manage daily operations as per incident management process.

  • Document processes, best practices, and standard work

  • Monitor application services and automate issue resolutions to improve service continuity.

  • Cross train with peers, juniors, and recommend solutions, and design changes to improve operations.

  • Must be willing and able to travel 25% of the time (domestic and international)

Basic Qualification:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

  • 5+ years experience with Digital Technology Infrastructure and related concepts

  • 5+ years experience with administration and management of applications to include installation, configuration, optimization, backup, & recovery across multiple server environments

  • Ability to lead projects and help guide customers to solutions that fit their business needs.

  • Understanding and experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell)

  • Knowledge of IT best practices (ITIL) as well as working in a process driven enterprise organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with application and system automation tools, containerization and related concepts.

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS & Azure) and an understanding of those platform’s capabilities.

  • Experience querying and working with databases (MS SQL, Oracle, Hana, Databricks, etc)

  • Experience with application security and system compliance

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
