Job Description

AECOM is looking for an exceptional Senior Park Planner / Project Manager to join our busy Parks Planning and Design Studio located in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Parks Studio is focused on the planning and design of parks, public open space, greenways, trails, bicycle, and pedestrian facilities. We continually plan, design and deliver some of the premier, award-winning park system planning projects across the country and excellent open space design projects in the Southeast region. We are passionate about what we do in the Parks Studio at AECOM. We bring projects to life in the cities and communities in which we work, and we’re driven by a set of values and a common purpose — to create, enhance and sustain the world’s built, natural and social environments. Our multidisciplinary studio works closely with urban designers, architects, engineers, economists, community outreach, and other related professionals to develop award-winning integrated projects. As a Senior Park Planner / Project Manager you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of project types at all stages of the design and implementation process. The successful candidate will work closely with the management team to lead design development and delivery at all stages. We’ll provide you support in an environment that allows you to grow and succeed.

Other duties of the Senior Park Planner / Project Manager

  • Will develop park planning and landscape architecture on projects from conception to construction.

  • Prepares innovative conceptual landscape designs and urban public realm designs alongside studio leadership

  • Will write reports and technical documents both independently and as part of a larger, multi-disciplinary design team

AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, or a related field plus four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Project Management experience and experience managing competing deadlines and project budgets.

  • Professional Landscape construction/contract administration experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience utilizing AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office Suite, ArcGIS, and hand drawing

  • Excellence in design and knowledge of technical detailed design and construction methods and practices (grading and layout plans, planting plans, construction details)

  • Experience with project coordination that involves client meetings, group presentations, and the resolution of typical issues/challenges that includes high-quality design products

  • Highly developed graphic, verbal, and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences including clients, communities, and peers

  • Knowledge of LEED and SITES sustainability principles, methods, and practices

  • Registration as a Landscape Architect or AICP certification

  • Master’s degree in landscape architecture, planning, or a related field

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $105,000.00.
